Family Engagement
Close links between home and school are essential for establishing a good working relationship between families, pupils and teachers. All parents and carers are valued as part of our school community, and active family engagement is fundamental to children’s success in education.
We actively encourage parents to be involved in their child’s learning and look to create an atmosphere where families are encouraged to play an active role in their child’s learning.
Get Involved
Throughout the year, you can get involved in your child’s learning through:
- Engaging with the home learning platform Seesaw;
- Attending parent/carer meetings;
- Reading weekly newsletters and monthly family engagement newsletters;
- Attending open afternoons to share your child’s learning;
- Attending information sessions on a wide range of themes e.g. curriculum, Additional Learning Needs, online safety, Thrive etc.
- Attending workshops delivered by external agencies or school staff , e.g. cookery, outdoor learning, healthy eating, literacy and numeracy etc.
Our Family Engagement Officer, Mrs Brown, works closely with pupils and families to provide support and to encourage families to play an active part in their child’s education. Mrs Brown is also on hand to offer support and guidance throughout the day. She works with specialist agencies which support children’s welfare, such as the School Nurse, Early Help and the Education and Engagement Teams within the Local Authority.
